Camp Good News |

| The mission ministry that Trinity Church supports is Camp Good News. The goal of Camp Good News is for each camper to begin, or grow, their love relationship with God in a FUN camp setting. The summer staff is selected for their faith and character, background checked, and trained to live and walk a biblical faith with the campers in their cabin, or in their positions around the camp. Many lives have been transformed through the work that is done at Camp Good News, and many, many children have come to know the love of their savior, Jesus Christ. Trinity received an updated letter from the camp director informing us of how Camp Good News has been working in the lives of little ones recently:
"Hi everyone,
This is our second week of Legacy Changers ministry and last week of summer camp ministry.
Last week, I was amazed by God working in the lives of these children and how the children responded to the work of God. It is absolutely heart breaking to get to know these kids and then to have to send them home. Many of these kids don't have their father in the home, some don't have their mom or dad in the home. Last week, we had 27 children accept Christ or recommit their lives to Him. Praise the Lord!
This week, the campers are older and a little less well behaved, but they are still children. They have seen more than many of us will see in our whole lives. In one of our boy cabins, each camper has witnessed a murder. One boy saw his dad get shot when he was only 3. He remembers. He asked if God is loving and powerful, why did He let that happen? His counselors told him, we don't know, but God is powerful and He loves you and He will use what happened to the camper for good. The camper processed that and then asked if he could pray. He prayed, "God, I don't know why you allowed what happened to me, happen to me, but I will trust that it is in your plan and you will use it for good." That is the childlike faith that we all need to have.
We have seen God bring 17 kids to Him so far this week. Please pray that our counselors will love these kids like they have never seen before, even through discipline issues. Pray that no child leaves here before making the most important decision in their lives and they would grow as they go back into their home life.
